Roger F. Coleman, secretary/treasurer of the New York Newspaper Publishers Association, presents Mary Ann Herrington with a plaque for winning the “Distinguished Column Writing Award of Excellence.” The NYNPA awards banquet was held May 7 in Albany. Herrington won the award for her commentary “Losing faith” which discussed the closing of St. Hyacinth School in Dunkirk.
