A garage at 92 W. Chestnut St. in Dunkirk was heavily damaged in a fire this morning.

Dunkirk city fire chief Michael Edwards reports his department responded to the call at at 6:45 a.m. Upon arrival crews found the detached garage heavily involved in fire. The fire was quickly extinguished and there were no injuries. The Fire Department was on scene for one hour.

The cause of the fire was determined to be an electrical overheat.
