CHAUTAUQUA — An Ashville man died Saturday night in a one-car crash

Deputies were called to Beaujean Road in the town of Chautauqua for report of a motor vehicle accident. Upon further investigation, it was determined that the single vehicle involved left the roadway and struck a telephone pole.

The collision caused the vehicle to be broken in half and the telephone pole to catch fire. The operator of the vehicle was identified as Roger L. Beaujean, 33, of Ashville. As a result of the injuries sustained in the collision, Beaujean was pronounced deceased at the scene.

The Sheriff’s Office was assisted by the Westfield Police Department and the Mayville Fire Department. No charges are pending.
