IRVING – Seven fire companies were on the scene early Sunday morning of a major fire in Sunset Bay.

The call came in around 4:30. Upon arrival, crews found the home at 936 Erie St. in flames. Fire department crews responding included: Sunset Bay, Cassadaga, East Dunkirk, Forestville, Fredonia, Sheridan and Silver Creek. Chautauqua County Emergency Medical Service also was at the scene.

County Executive George Borrello, who was on the scene, noted on his Facebook feed: “Everyone got out safe. Our first responders got here quickly. … They have saved the neighboring houses.”
