Trip to Canada

For the first time since 2001, my family made a short trip across the border to Canada. Unfortunately, I don't know if I will be going back too soon.

Despite my affection for Canada, getting there is just is too great a hassle. Before the terrorist attacks of 9/11, questions to get into Canada and back to the United States were less stressful.

It has nothing to do with the border agents. They are just doing their job. Getting into Canada was the easy part. It's getting back to the U.S. that is the tough part.

Last week, it took my family five minutes to wait for the guards to give us clearance to return to our native land. It was a great trip. But those stops at the border can be a little too stressful.
