Funny thing on Friday morning. County Legislator Fred Croscut was on WDOE’s "Viewpoint" talking about how county leaders need to cut spending.
That's like telling an eskimo to live in Florida. It just does not happen.
When in the world has Croscut really wanted to cut anything? He never was in favor of reducing the health insurance for county lawmakers until there was political pressure. He still does not want to reduce the 25-member Legislature — and continues to beat the drum about how busy he is attending meetings and dinners ... and oh yeah, taking all those hundreds of calls from his constituents.
Remember, in December 2008, Croscut was there — along with the overabundant 24 other legislators — voting yes to 12 percent pay increases as the national recession was just starting to set in.
Yes, we need county lawmakers to reduce spending. But to think Cros-spend will be the one to do it?
If he does, eskimos may be living in Florida.
