| | Missing a community friendApril 6, 2010 - John D'AgostinoThe day after Easter was just a little bit different this year at the OBSERVER and around Dunkirk. Our beloved Chet Tarnowski, who had died in March, had not stopped by with his pussy willows and hat. Our Dunkirk Dyngus Day celebrations will be forever different. But on our Opinions page, Alex Uszacki wrote a fitting tribute to our friend and his tradition that he would let no one forget. "Chet made people happy all the time, no matter who he met," Uszacki wrote. "He always had a very happy attitude for life." One of my favorite pictures of Chet came from last year’s Grotesque Parade in the village of Fredonia during the firefighters convention. Having fun and putting on a show. God bless him.
