| | SHOCKING? NOT!April 29, 2010 - Shawn PaulusAm I shocked on the outcome of the downsizing of the Legislature vote? Of course not, why should I be? Seriously, why would the majority want to rock the boat? We have heard so many reasons why they THINK there needs to be so many of them. My favorite is because they are so busy. Busy doing what? Is it because they are busy listening to and talking to the people that they are supposed to represent. Well that is hogwash. I have never had my representative Mr. Fred Croscut come to my door, call me or drop me an email asking for his vote or what I think. If he was out doing this, then maybe yes, they would be busy. Having coffee in the coffee shop in Another good one I do not want to hear is about representation. By cutting the size, we won’t be as well represented or heard. Again, hogwash. Never have I been asked on how my representative should vote. So where is my voice anyways? We have also heard about “no groundswell of support for the downsizing.” You bet — I am going to say it again, hogwash. Just this morning on WDOE almost every caller today to the open “Viewpoint” wanted a yes vote last night on downsizing. But I bet not a one of the 14 legislators who voted no were listening. To the 10 who voted yes last night. Thank You for trying. To the ones who voted no, but ran an election campaign and a promise to cut spending and downsize — Shame on you for not keeping a promise to the people who voted you into the Legislature. It only took you a couple of months to break your promise to the people you “represent”. Just keep on spending because you know no other way! Article CommentsNo comments posted for this article.
