Quick Thought's

July 15, 2010 - Shawn Paulus

Since I haven’t posted in a while, here are a just a few fast observations from me.

DSS in downtown Dunkirk! Sorry, if there needs to be an office in Dunkirk then pick one of the nice unused building like the old Unemployment building on Lake Shore Dr. West. It doesn’t need to be right Downtown. I have no sympathy for people that have to drive to Jamestown to work either. As most of us know people that drive great distances to work. Like your job, need a job, sometimes you have to drive.

The State of New York is still a mess. We still have no budget and no one up there in Albany really seems to care. I think they have a one track mind and can only come up with one solution. Tax everyone to death and see what suckers remain. Oh wait, they care about getting all there days off and leaving Albany in a hurry.

Chautauqua County government still hasn’t done anything either. I have no idea what they are doing besides bickering about the opposite political party. But hey, what’s the hurry we only face an 18 million dollar deficit next year.

Weeds in Chautauqua Lake! I don’t mind most kinds of lake weeds. As an avid fisherman weeds tend to hold fish. Weeds also protect smaller fish from bigger fish so they have a chance to grow.

Commission on Education! I am all for it. I live in a school district that merged, and I am all for consolidation. I am all for bringing kids from Ripley, Sherman or Westfield up to the all too big school. Believe me the school can handle more kids as the student population has dropped since the merger.

Whhaaazzzzup Nick Dean!!!!! I recommend Nick’s Blog “The Dean’s List” as he will have some off the wall stuff on there.
