Of the 25 lawmakers, a total of 17 returned to their seats for another sequential term. Even among the eight new members though, there are familiar faces. Vince Horrigan, who replaces Dick Babbage in representing District 17, is surely known for his years as executive director of the local American Red Cross Chapter. Similarly, William Coughlin, who replaces John Gullo as the legislator representing District 25, was formerly the county's public defender for a number of years. Below is a district-by-district breakdown of the Chautauqua County Legislature as it stands for 2012. In bold are the districts represented by newly-elected legislators: Dist. 1 — Keith Ahlstrom (D) Above and to the right of this blog text is a photo of the new legislature class. A link to the legislature section of the county website can be found by clicking here. On that page are the mailing addresses, email addresses and phone numbers for the elected officials. As committee assignments are decided, that info will also likely be added to the site.
