| | Zombies to take over SaturdayOctober 24, 2012 - April DiodatoThe undead will descend on downtown Fredonia this weekend. Will you survive – or decide to join them?
The fifth annual Zombie Crawl is happening this Saturday. Over the years, the Zombie Crawl has evolved from a handful of ghouls striking fear into the hearts of unsuspecting Fredonia citizens to an event that involves the entire community.
New for the 2012 Zombie Crawl is a scavenger hunt.
“We want to bring the feeling of zombies taking over downtown by having hordes of zombies walking aimlessly and not just on a set path as in earlier years,” said Erin Barr of Fredonia, one of the event's organizers. “Last year was great for the children but fell a little short for some of the adults without children, so we thought a scavenger hunt would be a great way to involve families and zombies of all ages.”
For those who need some help with their make-up, just come downtown at 7 p.m. and assistance will be provided.
“We will be having a make-up table and zombifying people for the hunt for a suggested donation of $2 that is used to supply make-up and prizes for the next year,” Barr said. “Also we are accepting donations of food for the Salvation Army, and bedding, food, or treats for the Pet Pantry again this year.”
The schedule is as follows:
7 to 8:30 p.m.: Zombie Make-up and Zombie Scavenger Hunt, Barker Common Volunteers are needed, both for this year's event and to help plan future Zombie Crawls. Visit https://www.facebook.com/FredoniaZombies for more details. | |
