Core concerns continue
August 23, 2013 - John D'Agostino
For educators, the Common Core is a hot-button issue.
Earlier this month, the state released test results for students in grades three to eight for English Language Arts and math. Proficiency rates, as many expected, tumbled — big time.
One state superintendent, however, is voicing her opinions. Dr. Teresa Thayer Snyder of the Voorheesville school district went viral by posting her comments on her Superintendent’s Page of the school web site. For this, she has received plenty of support.
Her actions are spotlighted in my Publisher’s notebook and her complete comments are found on the link as well as her most recent comments she posted Aug. 21.
