Options for long weekend

Those looking to get-away but save some dollars for the upcoming holiday weekend have a number of options. The most important option with gas prices at $4 a gallon is staying close to home. Here are some ideas for those in and around our region:

• In Jamestown, it's Lucy-Desi Days from Friday through Sunday.

• Go out for lunch or dinner. As many of us know, we have many fine-dining establishments throughout our region.

• Hit the Chautauqua Wine Trail. Since last summer, three more wineries have opened and with the weather and temperatures bound to be better, this weekend may be perfect for some tastings.

• Last but certainly not least are the parades and services on Monday held in just about every municipality in our region. Memorial Day was created to take time to pay tribute and remember, it is not just a day off.
