Winter is in the neighborhood

November 17, 2008 - John D'Agostino
Despite some snow flurries on Sunday in the village, many here in Dunkirk-Fredonia awoke Monday to green grass.

Those in the southern part of Chautauqua County were not as lucky. Cassadaga, of course, was one of those areas hit by the lake snows receiving 10 inches overnight. Jamestown received about a foot while other parts of our area, including Cattaraugus County, received about 18 inches.

Just last week, residents here will note, we were at 65 degrees on Friday. Our current forecast trend, however, seems to be much colder and is an indication winter is ready to arrive.

Get those shovels, plows and snowblowers ready.
