‘Vote No’ signs stolen
BROCTON — The Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Department is investigating the theft of signs from private property in the Brocton community. These signs are supporting a “no” vote on the proposed merger between Brocton Central School and Fredonia Central School. Under Sheriff Charles Holder said a report on the missing signs was filed several days ago and the investigation is continuing. “Anyone who may have information about the signs may call 753-2131. Stadler, 64, of Derby was charged Tuesday with driving while intoxicated, having .08 percent or more blood alcohol content, failure to yield the right of way and failure to maintain lane. Deputies said he was stopped on Route 39 for failure to yield the right of way and failure to maintain lane. The investigation led to the DWI charges.
