Mayville Bluegrass Festival

MAYVILLE — World-class bluegrass will return to Chautauqua County this June as the Mayville Bluegrass Festival marks its seventh year with a two-day concert at Lakeside Park.

Scheduled for June 14 and 15, the annual themed music festival will again feature the “Futures of Bluegrass” youth component for the second year.

Announced recently by event founder Bill Ward, the Mayville Bluegrass Festival is again the recipient of a grant from the New York State Music Fund to feature “some of the best young bluegrass artists in the country.”

Because of the grant, young Bluegrass stars Ryan Holladay and Sierra Hull will bring their Carnegie Hall presentation, “Bluegrass: Exploring American Roots Music” to several area schools on Friday, June 13. Besides Hull and Holladay, the “Futures of Bluegrass” features teen multi-instrumentalists Cory and Jerrod Walker, and family band Digger Davis and Tombstone.
