As I mentioned yesterday, NY had several chances to add manufacturing jobs here in the 1980's when those plants were shutting down. But Cuomo Pt 1 offered no incentives at all. Two plants at least (Saturn and VW) looked at property around Sheridan area, and i think Nissan too at one point. Added together that was a chance at about 1200 - 1500 jobs, but nope. No help from the guy who gave us permanent tollbooths, insane gasoline taxes, among other things. NY had chances, even WNY at that, but nobody thought it was important enough, and they all stepped over a $100 to make $1.
