Hey phil, the grant money which by the way comes from tax payers, will still be out there whether Dunkirk takes it or not!!! So why not take it, also I dont believe that you are talking about a lot of money here. Phil, by the way try walking in a police officers shoes, they have a tough job, but still make less than teachers do. Do you want to strap on a gun and fight crime for min. wage or what????? Get real phil, what a piece of work you are!

Hey baseball - who do you think pays for the fat pensions paid to cops who fatten their pensions with overtime in their final years? Do you think you can get grant money to cover those pensions? Oh, by the way Baseball, where do you think grant money comes from?

If grant money is used to pay the OT costs to catch drivers that speed in school zones, is baseball saying we shouldn't complain?

Ortolano's idea is the same legal scam used to benefit the DPD by exploiting taxpayers thru OT abuse. Yes, the grant money would be used to pay for OT, but tell me baseball, who pays for the increased pension contributions needed to pay for these deliberately inflated pensions?

Pension reform demands that all OT earnings be excluded from the formula used to calculate ANY public worker's pension.

Dont any of the Council know how to write a resolution. Why is it left in the hands of the Mayor and City Attorney. You have 5 votes and are the sponsors of all resolutions and local laws. As the Mayor states ,"Keep Clam and Carry On."

Oh yes! Let's throw some more overtime to the police department and don't forget to give it to those cops that are about to retire so we can give their pension checks a hefty boost!!!!!!!!!

The section of Plover St (near the HS) hasn't had a sidewalk ever since the school was built. How long is that...50 yrs? The kids won't use them anyway, or are you now gonna start giving tix to students walking in the street?

...where's Goober & Otis?

"I'm talking about making sure speeding in the School 4 zone specifically, if somebody ... gets pulled over for speeding, I'd like to see they get the maximum amount of fine," Rivera said. "With the extra money made from this, we could put it toward (the city)."

I don't know about you, but I'm having a real hard time finding anything in that statement that says anything about a concern for safety. You know, the real excuse, -Eric, reason that school speed zones were conjured.
