From James own statements it appears that he is unwilling to do what his constituents wants and hopes he can drag his feet long enough hoping public opinion changes.

I mean let's be real, is he honestly saying he can't read it before the next voting session?

With this kind of split I think it shows two things. People are not ready to let soemone else care for their elderly and they sure aren't ready to let someone like this man do it!! Time to take a look back at all that has been said and make a decision based on real information, not minipulated figures.

This doesn't need to be a tough decision. Let the Observer and Post Journal conduct a poll of all county residents by rnning a newspaper questionaire in both newspapers. Of course the questions must be structured in a very unbiased manner. Let the majority of residents and taxpayers make the decision!

SonnyB,

No, I just don't keep track of all the politicians in the County, especially those from the opposite side of the County. When I read the story I read her name a Victor James so assumed it was a guy, just as had I realized it was Victoria I would have assumed she was a woman.

BTW, nice attempt to deflect the issue. She admits that her constituents want her to vote to sell, but instead she wants to drag things out, likely in the hope that opinion will change over time.

She much think the union trolls and those spouting the same old lines/lies time and again will gain traction so she can vote against the sale without risking being booted from office during her next election.

notalways....You are absolutely correct....The real information on Mr.Rothner is out there, but these legislators who are*****bent on getting rid of the home apparently aren't bothered by it,which tells me that they don't give 2 craaps about this County's most vulnerable,by placing them into the hands of a private owner, whos only concern is making money, compromising quality of care and giving the owner free reign to pick and choose who will be accepted to his facility....This doesnt apply to just Mr.Rothner, this applies to all private owners, because thats what it is all about, making money!....If anyone thinks all the homes employees will be retained, you are delusional, staffing will be cut, thus furthering patient quality of care and adding more people to the unemployment lines,to add to the 600 jobs lost in this area the past few months....All these jobs lost were private sector!!....The Home must remain as is,in the hands of the people it was created for to serve and protect!....

DarkStar....I think you are a phoney and full of sheite!....There are only 25 Legislators, how hard is it to keep track of such a small number?....You either dont know how to read or you need a new eye script, but I dont think its either one,you are a phoney propaganda spreader!....One more thing, you claim you have such an extensive background in health care?..If you dont know how to read I wouldnt want you to take care of me,theres a good chance you would give me the wrong medication!..You are a phoney!....

"but I dont think its either one,you are a phoney propaganda spreader!...."

That's ironic coming from a CSEA stooge! lol!

I've been posting here for more then two years on a wide range of subjects, while you show up when this issue is raised and I don't think I've seen you comment on any other subject.

Oh and let's not forget that you are the one constantly copying and pasting the same garbage into thread after thread on this subject and who claims a 30 minute video is unedited yet the questioning that was done took place over a much longer period of time.

I give opinions, you give distored facts and then claim I spread propaganda? LOL!

Maybe if you weren't so quick to attack anyone with differing opinions you could learn how screwed up you truely are, but I'd bet against that ever happening.

See, I'm not a union troll like yourself so I don't get paid to check into all the parties involved.

Personally I could care less who is in office, all I care about is what they do while they are in office and of course someone who represents Jamestown gets even less interest from me then others since I don't live there.

SonnyB,

Whatever, your free to think what you want but I'm not going to waste my time trying to debate with a union troll whose sole purpose is to insure the County Home, and CSEA, can continue to leech off the taxpayers.

Does anyone know how much it would cost for someone to come in and build a nursing home the size of the CCH would cost? because $16 million seems awful cheap to me. I think this deal between Edwards and Rother is a steal. Is there any connection between the two?

Marcia,

A private company could come in and build it for less then that, and remember the contents are all used so their value is much less then new.

You need to remember that to build anything it costs the government far more then it would a private company or individual.

"...the CSEA, whose sole purpose is to leech off the taxpayers."

WOW!! Your opinion of public unions is noted. This helps explain why you support selling the CCH. Similar posts reinforce my belief that selling the home is predicated on selfishness & vindictiveness, not what's best for the residents of the home.

Unlike you, many people appreciate the work that public employees do, be it firemen, police, teachers, etc., all of whom (according to you) are "leeches." I will say, however, that public unions have abused their power over the yrs, due in large part to PERB, and w/o any consideration for the taxpayers' age, income or ability to pay for union demands. I believe this, along with corrupt union reps, are the two biggest reasons why support for Right To Work laws is growing.

Captain,

I'm confused, first you bash my views and then you basically agree with the very reasons I have those views.
