These areas have been without water since they were built. What is that 50 years. Now all of a sudden they are wanting water lines to supply the water. Why did they wait so long?

hadenough I don't blame them the town is jumping on the band wagon for waterline projects (RT 5 east & west) that benefit other areas more but within the town taxpayers have to jump thru hoops to try to get this done. They are in a water district paying fees and getting nothing bet you would be blowing your top if you where in their shoes!

These folks SHOULD NOT be paying a comprehensive water tax if they are not receiving municipal water.

Further, the concern raised about wells being contaminated by the old dump/landfill is very real. If tests confirm that just ONE well has been contaminated due to seepage from that former dump site, you won't have to ask this board for permission to hook up to an existing water line, the EPA will mandate it! Once the EPA ges involved and the news becomes public, the town loses all of its leverage to negotiate the best price b/c of the mandate and time constraints.

There are only a few houses on New road that do not already have city water who could possibly be effected by the old landfill so I doubt that approch would help. It is sad that these residents have been asking for water for years but get no help from the town. The town sat on their hands with the promise of the millenium highway that was suppose to include a waterline now that that fell through the residents are back to square one!
