You may not see Silver Creek Trustee Ben Peters’ picture on a milk carton, but there is no question he is missing in action....

(ran out of room) 5) Fredonia Police and 6) SUNY Fredonia police who are allowed to respond to calls of campus. Additionally, you have two state police barrack basically right around the corner from each other. But lets focus on the little ELECTED guy that is missing meetings. Talk about not seeing the forest through the trees.
Finally, the content of the newspaper is just a joke. There is no indepth analysis done, no research, it is all lazy man's journalism (i.e. Obits, police blotters, press releases) it's a junkyard for news.
So as you grind your political axe, know that people see through your B.S and take zero stock into nay views the Observer offers.

Sure...obviously you have a political axe to grind in Silver Creek. What happens in Silver Creek is inconsequential..if people had an issue with his work ethic...they can boot him out of office come election time. Have there been complaints about his worth ethic? Is he able to conduct the business of Silver Creek and live up to the responsibilities of his position by using such things as phone, fax, computer, internet. You do know that technological advances don't require someone to remain tied to their desk 9-5 some innovative places actually allow workers to telecomute and work from home.
Meanwhile, the Observer sits silent on real abuses of power and waste in government. The Observer is all for cost saving iniatives except when it comes to police services. How about exploring what it costs taxpayers for police services. If you were to drive from Silver Creek to Fredonia you would encounter 1) Silver Creek Police 2) County Sheriffs 3) State Police 4) Dunkirk Police 5) Fredonia Pol
Care to explain your rant and let us in on why this is " lack luster news gossip?"
I think most people would think that an elected official not showing up to work for a couple months would be newsworthy, so care to explain why it isn't?
This kind of lack luster news gossip is why I refuse to buy the Observer. Why waste your money on an actual Observer paper when you can come to the website and get the same nonsense stories for free. Atleast this way, I'm not paying for this garbage.
Yeah, really - I though "no show" jobs were the purview of the Mob not elected/paid officials.
It's not just the money the people are not getting the representation they elected him for.

Seems he's had three chances, to show up that is, but hasn't used on of them.
A few days ago someone said he accepted a new job and it was because of this he was unavailable, but that this shouldn't be held against him, which is completely wrong.
If his job does not allow him to fufill the duties for which he was elected he should resign and allow someone who can do the position to fill the spot.
It's not personal, it's strictly business. If you paid someone to plow your driveway would you pay him if he didn't show up and actually do the job? What if it was because he had another job that conflicted with plowing, would that make it okay so you would pay him for nothing?
