Great points!

I love the idea of the increase in international students at SUNY. I think it was Mark Twain who said travel was the best cure for prejudice. Well, second best is to meet in person people from all over the world. How exciting that our local college is becoming a leader in international students. A move that I think we will all benefit from.

As to the plea bargain, agree!! I had believed that to plea down a speeding ticket to say a parking ticket, that the local government then could keep more of the money from the fine. Is this not true? If so, that explains why he is proposing not to permit the plea..the state greedy as it is, wants more of the fine money. Yet, as stated, pleas will remain for criminal offenses? No, not right at all.

Its all about the money and control. the state needs money to pander for votes. Aint it great to see deals like the Observer mentioned and that great corasanti verdict ? Our justice system in action.

The best part is that the State already has a surcharge on every court proceeding regardless of what the plea deal is. So they will now******a surcharge on top of a surcharge. No plea deal for someone who may just be late for work or a doctor appt. but it's OK to let drug dealers, sex offenders thiefs etc.. get a good deal. Shame on you Andrew Cuomo !!!

Leave it to the gaggle of church lady clueless OBSERVER board geese to share their superior intellectual with arguing injustice comparing speeding/parking tickets to inappropriate sexual contact with a minor.

Makes me believe someone on the gaggle board got slapped when they made an inappropriate sexual contact during high school "parking" and hasn't gotten over the rejection all these years later...

Dcronlg seems to have finally lost whatever little bit of sanity they had been holding on to, and they have now become the leftist Steiner.

Although instead of Steiner's "union babble, babble, babble" rants we will be subjected to Dcronlg's inane ramblings about "OBSERVER board babble, babble, babble" rants.
