Margaret: What entitles you to a space for such meanderings? Can I wander in and about all these topics with no responsibility for their integrity? Who do I have to know to have such by-line? There's so much of interest and so much to object to in what you write that I'll be surprised if you have a clue as to which is which. What is the journalistic standard that you follow? Half-truths, innuendos, arguments without evidence, and the occasional moment of common sense. I'm even worried about the latter, since "common" often means "mediocre" (average) and "going with the crowd." Sometimes I'm on your side, though usually not for the weak reasons you advance. A column is not a conversation with your mother; it should enlighten readers to things not considered, not reinforce mere opinion.
