If anybody can turn this around to be people friendly instead of just business friendly it is you Sam. Good Luck. We always meet people from our area who fly to Myrtle Beach for golf or beach weekends where TIME is the important factor. Being able to shave 2hours off the trip and take a direct flight from Jamestown, especially in the winter would be a win win situation. If flights are delayed, better to be here than in Buffalo or Niagara Falls. Also changing flights 3 times to get somewhere takes a whole day off your weekend. The plane flys both ways and direct flights would bring relatives back home for ski weekends, fishing trips etc. Win win situation. It's about time.

Good luck. On average you serve 10 passengers a day.

"...the Dunkirk Airport is close to breaking even (as far as its budget). Meanwhile...the Airport in Jamestown is working within its budget."

What exactly does this mean? It sounds intentionally vague if you ask me. Please disclose exactly how much taxpayer money the county allocates to each airport per/yr. Then release the annual revenues that each airport brings in. Doing so will reveal exactly what it costs to operate each airport.

If Edwards & his allies insist that non-mandated services must be sold if they lose money (CCH), I'd like to know why their belief doesn't apply to these airports, among others.

Now starts the justification for the airports. Not too long ago the restaurant was crying for more funds. Just bull to save not needed taxpayer supported airports.

These airports are useless, they served their purpose well twenty years ago. There's no way to attract travelers, this area doesn't have much to offer. It's not worth keeping them open.

Canonball, this guy at least deserves a chance. It seems like a very steep uphill battle, but if it gets turned around, then fine. But it is a tough fight since this area is devoid of any attractions (save the institution, ski areas, and a couple lakes). Maybe a better angle would be for drug shipments?...
