I commend Mr. Piccolo for trying to obtain the funding for the DPW building. However, after reading the complete audit report in which the current mayor was continually chided for choosing to take the word of both FEMA and SEMO field agents without getting it in writing( seems the agents wouldn't provide it in Writing)it seems iffy at best. Both agency offices sent letters telling the mayor they could not use funds in the manner in which they planned. A likely reason it is still under review? Perhaps,

Maybe if the Village did what was asked of them instead of playing games life the DPW move OUT OF THE VILLAGE, tearing down buildings without so much of a pay-back from the owner, buying new cars and video cameras so that new car can sit while someone watches the camers, and I am sure several hundred bone headed and greedy decisions. So Gowanda gets their FEMA after years of doing what was asked of them and now we cry FOUL to Schummer? Because we had a rushed $50,000,000 vote and now we have to pay for it. Well the waste water was a wreck before the flood, why should FEMA pay for something that was already trash. They offered to rebuild local services buildings not fund a village wide project.

Also, I like Nick, but when a person runs unapposed, it isn't really a compliment from both sides. It's more along the lines of no one else would touch it with a 10 foot pole. I am pulling for him to do a great job, but as "united" both parties are about him running unapposed, that will end the 1st hour into his mayoral run and we will all be right back hear again. Sorry

Silver Creek is slowly disintegrating, pretty soon it will be a blurry memory.

They should dissolve the Villages of Forestville and Silver Creek and let the Town of Hanover run things! Both Village governments are inept!

Inept Just begins to cover all the crap that has gone on in Silver Creek for years! The tax payers have been used and abused for years, and years to benefit the few, and it is finally catching up to them.

I"ll never forget when Cindy who was village clerk was fired for turning in assistant village clerk for stealing garbage bag money. As it happens she was former Silver Creek Mayor Tim Heaverns, girlfriend, and to save face he had to fire her too, but he found her a job as a manager at a Dollar store after, with his connections. Poor Cindy was fired for doing her job, her only sin was turning in the Mayor's girlfriend. All very true just ask Cindy, and some of the people around town who know the truth About that. Just one example of what has gone on in that village.

stargirl, it probably is a good thing they don't know your name. You have done enough damage to yourself to have a lawyer contact you. If you have proof of the ex mayor and so called girlfriend, come on out and prove it,if not stick with the subject at hand
