Seems like if the town has a surplus of cash that they need to get rid of, they could give taxpayers a break. I had no idea the town budget had excess monies. While the town employees are on the clock, they are earning benefits too! What a deal; eat lunch, get paid for eating lunch, and earn vacation days while eating lunch.

Really a half hr lunch for working 4 hrs not one company does that nor would I expect that as a part time worker. And what really doesnt make much sense at all is the need for the town of dunkirk to have a highway dept at all. The roads and necessary services should be split between Dunkirk,Fredonia and County. The Town of Dunkirk is a small area to maintain which doesnt require much to be done work wise. Its very clear people are moving businesses are closing here yes taxes have an impact on that decision. Save the taxpayers money and consolidate services and equipment. I have difficulty paying my taxes like a lot of people and this whole outdated thinking that we need the town doesnt set well with me. This opinon would be different if there was financial growth or a need for development but thats not coming to the Town anytime soon. Have a free lunch on us just my two cents!
