Why do we need town governments? It's just one more layer of bureaucrats to feed at the public trough.

captain I believe the labor law reads 1/2 half hour unless the workers are covered by a union contract that allows the change to a 20 min paid lunch. I don't know if town employees are represented by a union.

I should have known Dc would bring out the church lady and gaggle drivel yet again. You're tired diatribe is over DC, find a a new schtick. AS far as paid lunch, not very many private comapanies offer that and the vacation is "use it or lose it." Why would anyone want burnt out, over worked people taking care of the fire, police, and EMT services? So they can make an extra week or two salary because they didn't take the time to relax? Dc please...for all the people tired of your verbage. Stop being the designated Cretin Using Nerdy Terminology...although you are without a doubt the best at it, just stop. It proves nothing but your fear of using your mental faculties to come up with a new idea every week or so...

I'll bet that the editor of the Observer also continues to receive pay during his lunch.

A lot of government employees are on call during lunch, like highway, police, fire, I bet they do not get a full lunch quite often!

If this editorial doesn't sound like a bunch of gossipy church ladies at a Thursday afternoon tea, discussing fantasized innuendos ad naseum, then I don't know what is.

I'm glad to see that the clueless church lady gaggle of geese OBSERVER board neither fails itself at self-realization nor fails to validate its worthlessness.

The govt is the new god now. In Erie county , their slogan is when the govt works erie county does too. Implying of course that no private industry could work without a watching govt entity. I bet that the coal would not even burn in Dunkirk plant without the govt. Combustion would say, we need a govt agent ! thats the way it is folks, believe it. Thats why the govt people say you did not build it. they mean, of course the govt did. Makes them feel good.

This is certainly nothing new. Schools have done this for 40 or more years now.
