What a joke. 8% or 10% is like paying nothing. Retired people pay more than that for their health insurance. They should be paying minimum 30%.

I have to agree, 10% should be the starting point, not the ending one.

In most civilized (and many not so civilized) countries, this isn't an issue. Only in America of all of the developed nations is healthcare an issue. Why not deal with that issue?

No, not changing the subject, just being sarcastic with people who dislike unions and public employees and their benefits, including insurance, while supporting those who are dead against solving that problem. So, not changing subject, just pointing out the irony and using a LITTLE sarcasm as well.

Solving the insurance problem in this country will do nothing about solving the insane benifits public workers enjoy and instead will simply eliminate discussion of the one that most people can actually understand and put a dollar figure to in their own life.

Someone who is paying 50% for their insurance can look at their check and see what the difference is but the pensions, vacations, holidays, and all the other benifits are less obvious since people can't connect a direct dollar value with them the way they can insurance.
