phil the 20 min paid lunch is common to industries who work 3 shifts around the clock it was the only way to give workers a lunch break and fit 3-8hr shifts into one day. This does not apply to the town workers as they only cover one shift so they should not be entitled to any paid lunch they should get one half hour unpaid. My guess is this was started by Mr. Purol former steel worker.

In all of the years that I worked I never had a paid lunch either. But then again I wasn't paid by taxpayers nor did I belong to a union.

If the workers are getting paid while they eat lunch, they are probably earning vacation while they eat lunch. I’m starting to realize many people have never worked for a company that would have to close the doors and send us home if they couldn’t make a profit. Why should I expect 8 hours pay for 7.5 hours of work? Are there so few applicants for these full time positions that paid lunch periods have to be offered in order to find people willing to work?

I have never had the luxury of a paid lunch either. 2 fifteen minute breaks always seemed to me to be fair. Heck, even the federal workers don't get paid lunches! Take, take, take!!

In my 40 years of work in the private sector no one ever paid me to eat lunch. Maybe these clowns would be alot more careful if they had to earn the money they are spending!
