Sarah, for sure we can say the libs are obsessed with sex. the 20 % number you quote is misleading. It is much higher in the minority groups than caucasian. For sure we can say feminism failed as the gals now have to have a reason to delay childbirth . This is not the 19th century. Choice again is only a health related issue to women. If education is needed then give us more choice, vouchers for public education. For sure we can say the democratic stronghold, the schools has goofed his up .No other conclusion can be made. Slim choice for a man to marry ? what a loaded statement that is cuz thats the problem in the cities for sure. Sarah, you dance around the problem without being specific or straight forward. This is common in libs, its called spin.

Just read a study that clearly shows abortions plummet when free contraceptives are available.

I ask then, those who think abortion is wrong, immoral, murder, why are you not then advocating big time for free contraceptives? Reduce unwanted pregnancies..reduce the number of abortions.

Steinerdzzz...its clear you are not obsessed with sex, given your opinion of women -- they can smell your misogyny (and more, no doubt) from miles away. I'll bet its been quite a while since...

Sarah -- you forgot to mention and point fingers at the immense, critical and singular responsibility of parents in these sexual situational matters with young women and young men.

Why is it OK to charge Ariel Castro with murder for the abortions of the poor babies in OH, but when anyone else has one it's not murder?

Judeye-how many more "free" fixes must I pay for because of some peoples poor choices and stupidity. We pay for the free babysitting,we pay for the healthcare,we pay for the food,we pay for the cell phones and on and on........

Anyone not seeing the difference between Castro and a legal, clinical abortion is beyond talking to.

Joew, more use of that plan B pill would eliminate an awful lot of those other things you're complaining about for a LOT less money.

joew..who is saying free paid for by taxpayers? Who not take all that money that goes to buy up those little crosses that they display and instead buy contraceptives to avoid unwanted pregnancies?

Christopher, instead of trivializing the question give me an answer since you seem to think that you have them all. In both cases it's killing a baby, unfortunately only one is considered murder.

Sorry Paul but contraceptive measures of all sorts have been available for many moons and the people I refer to keep giving birth. I seriously doubt that the plan B stuff will make a serious dent in the teen pregnancy problem.

Judeye-perhaps you can clear up what you meant by "when free contraceptives are available"?

joew..."Providing birth control to women at no cost substantially reduced unplanned pregnancies and cut abortion rates by a range of 62-78 percent compared to the national rate, a new study shows.

The research, by investigators at Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis, appears online Oct. 4 in Obstetrics & Gynecology."

Contraceptives are not readily available to all who want them in our country. They are not free or low cost to many women either.

This study indicates the clear connection between contraceptives availability and lower abortion rate.

Against abortions. Provide more contraceptives to everyone who wants them.

the libs and especially cronig miss the point entirely. This is the democratic war on women. My grandmothers off the boat had more common sense than the modern liberated gals. Joew has it correct. How many free things must we pay for when the womens motto is ourbodies, ourselves, but with taxpayer funding . ellie roosevelt said the same thing." why do gals need so many laws ?" Contraception has been free or low cost for years libs. we can blame the feminists and democrats for this big social mess up. Facts cronig, not misogyny. Gals, when do ya think you might think for yourselves ? teen motherhood is poverty, but dems love poverty. Find a good man and keep a good marriage. This way the libs can tax you more for their programs. right libs ?

Judeye-contraceptive methods both chemical and non chemical have been available for decades and yet the teen pregnancy rate continues to climb. You used the word "free" and I wonder who will provide the "free" stuff?(that was my real question) I understand that birth control pills can be had for about $10.00 per month? I guess in order to instill responsibility and self discipline in people we need to give them free stuff right?

JOEW is correct. remember that fluke woman claiming she needed help for birth control ? After years of college this is what she got out of it.The pill is cheaper than a smart phone per month. so gals, you have been slipping since curie, who did all her work before any of the modern liberating things women have. I even read a feminist say that men should help women in their quest to have it all as the women , by themselves are having difficulty. sarah's article and the libs reply certainly prove it true .It is so much fun to watch this and hear the people say misogyny when the mental power of the activist women has slipped considerably in the past 100 years. Need more funding ? talk to Dc and the other libs who write here. remember, the govt has given us all the tech wonders we take for granted .All done by govt program or so the libs think. Teen births rising?, just happens to coincide with great society, feminism and other great liberal ideas.

remember that fluke woman claiming she needed help for birth control ?

Oh...and guess you failed to read her entire statement...as the pill was NOT FOR HER. Rather for a friend who needed it for MEDIAL REASONS not contraception.

At least if you cite something, take the time to cite it correctly.

joew...exactly the reason why we must do more education and make contraceptives more readily available. We have a way too high teen pregnancy rate...right here in our county. We should be looking at ways to decrease that number. Education and availability to contraceptives seems to me a great place to start.

Judeye-considering that 75% of teens who get pregnant come from single parent homes,I think that might be a good place to start. The shelves of pharmacy's,grocery stores, convenience stores, etc are well stocked. What is not stocked is responsibility and self discipline as those attributes are fast fading from our culture.
