both of my kids are strapped with large loans to repay, makes home ownership starting a family or even buying a new car a dream in this county. but if your on the welfare you can get a free college ed. or go to classes when you feel like it and not be stressed out because in the end its all free and its their right. so keep working the welfare depend on you.

Pop has it right. we need to saddle the grads with more debt as children are our future. then we could give welfare to people like the boston bombers. Look at europe and thats what we have here. An educated young and no jobs. all part of the democratic plan to keep their ranks growing. Young people voted for Oabama. excellent i say, now try and pay off all that debt too ! remember your kids will face even more hurdles than you. It is the american way of life promulgated by democrats.

Shumer needs to focus on reducing the burdensome taxes we all have to pay, not devise schemes encouraging our children to borrow more money. Pop is right, homeownership is out of the question until Uncle Sam gets paid back.

Just another way Big Brother is making our children his slaves.

Sad when I had to tell my children I could not help with the costs of their college education while the government makes me pay for the slugs who will not support themselves!!

“The cost of this bill will be offset by closing tax loopholes.” I’m insulted that Schumer expects me to believe that. And why is he willing to close the loopholes, if and only if he has pre-approval to spend the money someplace else? If the knows of the loopholes now, why is he not working to close them and lower all our taxes? The truth is Schumer has no intention of funding his spending sprees, he expects to steal the money from my children’s children in order to buy votes now. Making more money available for education is not going to lower the cost, it will raise it. There is so much money out there now available to students who aren’t expected to or don’t intend to pay it back, that the cost to students who need to pay it back is excessive.
