shofuh - a wise old attorney who had been practicing for many years once told me "Our legal system is simple: You can have as much 'justice' as you can afford." Those who have money and connections always get a break.

Wonder where all the people are who, in these comment sections, were defending her right after the accident?

"Answer to a Higher Power"??

Really? No he won't. He'll die and be gone just like all of us will at some point. He's a piece of scum, he got away with his murder, and he gets to live out the rest of his life carefree. A guy like that has no conscience - he doesn't care.

There's no judge sitting up in the sky who will hold you accountable for everything you've done on earth. Either you have a conscience or you don't. Oh wait - I mean either you have boatloads of money, a sleazeball lawyer, and coached witnesses, or you don't.

While I really do believe in harsh penalties for dwi (anyone who gets one should have a lifetime revocation of their license), I really dont like to see the disparity in sentences that people are getting for similar crimes. Why is it this young woman gets 15 years in jail (and she at least seemed apologetic, took responsibility) and plead guilty) while Dr Corasanti (who left the scene and has never accepted responsibility and was never sorry) gets just one year. Its a bad precedent and just shows that you shouldnt take responsibility for your actions.
