Oftentimes, residents and school board members in this area presume that superintendents cannot be shared between even the smallest of districts. Two Niagara County schools will test that assumptio....

One other breakfast and free lunch is outrageous!!!! If you can't feed your kids they should be taken away from you. Just the idea of serving breakfast is ridiculous!!! Get your lazy a s s out of bed and feed your kids. The other thing you need to do is use birth control and stop pumping them out to get welfare.

Superintendents are the only ones that think they can't oversee more than one district. That's so they can get their fat salary, sit on their fat butt and do nothing. All school administration needs an overhaul. I also agree that welfare and medicaid need huge reforms!!!

These matters are and should be controlled locally. When the people decide this is good for their district, they will go forward with shared services. Likewise, when the people decide it is not a benefit, they vote no.It is as it should be. Reform Welfare and reduce social spending.

What is the problem with merging school districts? Do they have to be done by the local areas or does the state have a say? Why can't we move forward on this?

OMG! Having lived in Niagara County for five years you must be referencing local government. This article references school districts, Niagara County School Districts are no different than any other in Upstate. To add and agree with the Observer we now have four school districts in the North Country of NYS sharing Superintendents. Does this help you now be able to view the possibilities. This was about sharing a Superintendent not the political atmosphere/actions in Niagara County.

Dcronig-speaking of clueless, the use of the term "County" has nothing to do with the school systems mentioned but rather is a geographical reference only. Ding dong!

We're thinking that, in WNY, there is no larger sewer of a county than Niagara County -- with all its toxic pollution (we don't have), corrupt politicians (ours are simply inept) and poor economics (OK< we share this).

So, to use Niagara County as a benchmark for what we should be doing is like telling the clueless church lady gaggle OBSERVER board to look to the National Enquirer for journalistic standards.

Hmmm...on second thought...
