Flag Etiquette STANDARDS of RESPECT: .."The flag should not be used as part of a costume or athletic uniform, except that a flag patch may be used on the uniform of military personnel, fireman, policeman and members of patriotic organizations. " The service person wearing the flag for a shirt is disgraceful.

Just to be very very clear: Memorial Day is to salute and remember those in military service that died during service. It is not meant to recall battles you survived, to honor active duty (God Bless and protect them) or to honor veterans. It's sole purpose is to recall the fallin. This article in no way reflects that. We have designated other days to honor the others.
