If NRG closes its Dunkirk facility, there's no question the city and all the surrounding areas are pretty much doomed. Not a big loss in the number of private sector jobs per se, albeit they are just a few of the good-paying jobs left (other than Purina and public workers), but it'll still be a crippling loss of revenue from the city's largest taxpayer. Haven't you heard, NRG is out taxes are going up. There is nothing coming to Dunkirk except more welfare and now spilling into Fredonia. Fredonia best do something to stop it or they can become one with Dunkirk.

I'd rather see Dunkirk go from this...

"The board is looking into zoning property around the Route 60 area as commercial in order to attract more jobs."

To this...

The board is looking into lowering property taxes in order to attract more jobs.
