Mmmm, NO. 2010 census shows Dunkirk, NY to be 65% white. So you "check the census".

I'm sure the kid's a good kid. There's a lot of "good kids" that show no regard for traffic safety or otherwise while they ride their bicycles zig-zag down the streets of DK, against traffic in DK, cross the street without looking in DK, walk down the middle of the road at all hours of the day (and night) in DK. They *tend* to be MINORITIES.. yes.. non-white, although that's just a tendency.

Personally, I drive about 20-25 mph max through DK streets specifically because of this type of activity - it's not worth hitting a kid even when the kid is almost always 100% at fault.

Latinos are the majority in Dunkirk, check the census. This child is a good kid. they were both going same direction the old man should have been more careful. How do you drag a kid 15 feet "trying' to stop ? if you ask me 70 year olds should not be out driving. I have almost wrecked many times to an old lady or man pulling out in front of me not paying attention or by being blind. The parents of this child should demand an investigation and charges should be filed. Going same way but don't see a kid on their bike, ask your self if you didn't see them why is it in your report you saw the kid and he cut into your path, then you hit your breaks, This shows the guy saw the kid , or was not paying attention. By the way this Dunkirk kid could of been wrecking on his bike, or the old man was too blind. This does not mean that this kid showed no regard. Dunkirk police should have arrested him pending an investigation. I hope and pray this child is alright, he's a good kid.

Hmm.. color me surprised. A Dunkirk youth showing no regard for traffic and safety while riding his bicycle? Try to drive anywhere in the city neighborhoods without encountering children and adults alike riding wrong-way and cutting across streets without looking. No regard. Primarily .. ahem .. minorities. And the walking down the middle of the street kills me. We've got sidewalks everywhere. And it's 11 and 12 yo kids - think they're invincible.

Best wishes to the child on is recovery, and hopefully a lesson learned for he and his friends.
