when I read about the merger at the brocton site it sounds like a bunch of teachers blowing sunshine up my a s s. lesson I'm for the merge but reading about it makes it sound like they just what to get their hands on more money their not going lay off duplicate staff their just going to bus kids back and forth and all around so they can get money I'm confused

It was not a proven winner with Mayville/Chautauqua.

Don't be surprized with a NO vote because WEAK MINDS have problems with change even if it's to their benifit.

Centralization is a progressive proven winner and can be done with schools , town/villages ,fire depts. ,and business.

Sports teams love the larger talant pool. - Vote yes !

barcelona.....does this sound like the Fredonia/Brocton merger? That's why Brocton voted no. They may just do that again.

This makes too much sense to vote no. The kids get better education, should save money. What's not to like.

I think the plan is to get the merger passed and then load the new board with mostly Westfield residents. Then have the new board pick Westfield as the school and close down Brocton. Westfield board members have told me to just vote yes and let the new board make the decisions. This isn't right.

I hope people understand that the 15 million dollars in state aid comes from the taxpayers. Its not free money.

If you can't save the Westfield taxpayer's thirty dollars a year with 15 million more dollars from the state do we really trust these people with running a merger?

Needed in some form. Another example of the shrinking of far western N Y. Hard to face.

Right on the money Commentor. It is a temporary solution. $30 tax savings for Westfield residents will turn them off. This is another Chautauqua lake issue, broke again after the merger money runs out.

Will not be a permanent solution unless they consolidate into one building. That will not happen at least not initially. They will delude themselves because of the extra state aid but eventually they will end up just like Chautauqua/Mayville. In the same boat they are in now.
