Kudos to the Audit and Control Committee! They get it. Dave Himelein is also very wise to realize that the method needs fixing or the problem will keep reoccurring. We need thinking, problem solving legislators now more than ever. Thanks to all!

At last someone with a brain hooray for the Audit and Control Committee. As for not doing it for the money then why not make it volunteer with no money. Fat chance. The money is part of it. Let's see how many don't do it for the money GIVE BACK YOUR SALARY.

These govt people need a raise ! yes ! Why ? as a reward for doing what we elected them to do ! wreck the local economy in microcosm like Washington does in macrocosm. See Unanswered question column , todays Observer, p A4.That is what govt is supposed to do now and it has done so quite nicely since woodrow wilson. He set a fine example as a liberal.

Walmart salaries for those responsible for managing a $200 million enterprise will give us nothing but a Walmart county: cheap, poor service and services. If we bristle when the state and outside companies don't take us seriously, we've done nothing but justify their perception that we are incredibly backward, barefoot and hillbilly, rivaling the best of WVa or Arkansas.

sign me up for that kind of money!!! I cannot believe the money spent to support these do nothings? No pay raises, in fact pay cuts would be the right move..they meet maybe once a week? at $40.00 per meeting, with 4 meetings a month..$160.00 a month sounds fair. All in favor?

Whole forests cut down. They grew back. fortunes made. Cronig you are the know nothing , get a govt grant or talk to christopher or judeye. There is money to be made and our beloved dumb govt prohibits it. Lets hear it cronig, aqua velva, church lady gaggle, social security. You just cannot think cronig, it is obvious now.

I wonder how long it will take for the Salary Review Committee to make a new proposal and how long will it take for the Audit an Control Committee to approve the measure? The fact is that they are not there as public servants - they are all there for the money. The public has nothing to say aout it and voters are too dumb to throw them all out!!!!!!

It is sad when someone becomes so cynical that they lose faith in all public servants. In this case, the Audit and Control Committee did the right thing and yet still it is not good enough for Phil.

Carlaw - I would much rather be cynical than gullible. I think you know where you stand.
