Why are people surprised at the tax number? You do realize that NY spends $256 annually per resident for "welfare benefits," while the national average is $99. NY spends the most of any state and Texas spends the least at $32. Why are taxes here so high? Gee, I wonder.

But it's all going to change with Cuomo's "Start -Up NY" (with a sarcastic grin)

In our county we could replace all the do-gooder programs with one good manufacturer.

New York State through its greed has run out business. High taxes, high wages, high cost of doing business is not conducive to a business friendly atmosphere. Just look at the desperation of the state wanting to get gambling and tobacco revenue from the Senecas. Food prices are among the highest in the nation. Yet what is Cuomo doing about it? How about Schumer? The glory days of the state are long gone. The is a saying that the South will rise again. Looks like it is.

Hey posters, if we had a waterfall, we could get cheap electricity and fuel economic growth ! oooops we have one. If we had a large body of water , like a lake or something we could attract industries . Ooops, climate change is going to dry up the lake so people move to the moist, desert south west . profit ahead of people bad . The companies are doing exactly what woodrow wilson said in his underwood tariff, the income tax bill. They would have to be clever to make money as the libs were going to steal it for income equality. so all the money flowed off shore to ireland and the cayman islands. High tax rates as the editor said make for poverty.excessive regs and taxes made us poor and the libs want more. Mntal issues again folks.

And we wonder why people leave this state. We pay high taxes and our leaders waste it arguing over how to change this instead of doing something to change it. They may throw money to IDA's with no real outcome but they make it harder and costlier for the existing business.
