robert - how does a man with your superior intelligence end up delivering papers for a living? I sure hope you don't turn into a grumpy old man when you retire.

Right you are Phil about the those on welfare doing the work. The "welfare to work" program is not anywhere near where it should be. Landscaping 101!

Nope Phil, I have worked since delivering newspapers and am approaching retirement now. I am a Democrat though....hope I don't end up being the old opinionated grump on the Opinion page like you have become.

how bout putting people that are actually looking for work in those positions? Or are you just looking for slave labor (free)? The park is in Dunkirk right? then Dunkirk should maintain it. oooops no money? then fix up the park and charge a $1 per car perhaps that would pay for it Phil eh? And once you move that entrance way people will be flocking to the park $1 bills will be flowing into the coffers. LOL

ROBERT - I see nothing wrong with putting welfare recipients to work and I see nothing wrong with putting prisoners to work. You must be a free loading Democrat!

yes Phil, change the entrance and suddenly everyone will want to see the unmowed grass, the beatup flower gardens and the neglected beach. jeez talk about a one track mind. Prisoners? I'm surprised you don't want welfare recipiants cleaning up.

The harbor cruise is a great event and I attend every year. It needs to be said that the park is poorly maintained. The once beautiful flower gardens are now totally neglected, the beach is rarely cleaned, grass is rarely cut and I will say this one more time - the entrance to the park should be on Point Drive North!! I see no reason why the park can't be maintained using prisoners from Brocton.
