Queenbee, Good point!! Did you know that according to the mayor that night, the county owned the properties under discussion and so we had to provide a smoking area. That's pretty funny when you already can't smoke in County buildings and vehicles. Also if that were the case, why do we spend all this money to put cameras in the parks to prevent vandalism and for upkeep if they belong to the county. Smells like rotten fish on the beach to me.

Steiner, you must be a male chauvinist slob. You don't have your facts straight either. Number one many who smoked that many years ago, bought tobacco in cans and rolled their own before all the garbage was added during processing. Number 2 there wasn't as much research about cancer as there is now or publicity about it. Obviously you have never been to Roswell to see the devastation of the disease and speak to the doctors about how many die of lung cancer who never smoked a day in their life or been in classrooms of 6 and 7 yr olds who you can tell come from smoking homes because their clothing and backpacks smell so badly of smoke that the whole area of of the coat closet smells of stale smoke. Seems that you are the one ignoring the facts and being snotty about it in the process... good way to exhibit IQ. Lastly, if smokers weren't rude and not paying attention to their "butt" when in crowds it might be different. Would you like your child or grandchild burned in the ey

melissa, can i have a candy cigarette ?I grew up on candy cigs and never smoked in adulthood. I even think my mother and her friends drank a little wine during pregnancy and certainly breathed 2nd hand smoke.they played cards a lot as we were poor, union and democrat.Steel plant laborers. I remember the smoke and drinking. Most lived to late 70's 80's or even 90 plus ! melissa, were they wrong to do this ? set us straight melissa !

queen bee says nothing. The queen does not know how to debate, just name call. Thats how libs always steer the arguments, name calling. No facts. Hey queenbee, your name suits you. Try reading some history. Activist women have an abyssmal history. To this day, the few women in business remark how few women there are. It is all run by men. For good reason. They dont let conversion disorder get in their way as women do.You could not dispute my two facts about smokers, so ya name called. that is not the mark of intelligence, queen, just the opposite. I had facts , you had emotion. try reading, it might help.

First of all the Babcock basketball court isn't used for basketball! The kids who want to play have been run off. The ones hanging out there may have a basketball with them, they use the court for smoking what they smoke and selling what they sell. If we had the neighborhoods patrolled the village would know this but lets put the blinders on to this also. Guess that's another issue.

Steiner - as usual - you're an idiot! Leave it to Silver Creek to decide to pay for something instead of accepting something for free. All you had to do was change a little wording and you'd receive free signs. Good work Mayor - wasting more taxpayer dollars!

1st) Silver Creek has a spray pool? So I can jump in the fountain? 2nd) Ms. Shaw are you going to sit and tattle on the carnys when the Festival comes to town if they smoke? 3rd)*****right smokers have rights, usually the right to get f'd over. 4th)Kudos for Peters actually showing up for a meeting. and finally.... Much like to old Main street school, are we going to hold out for a pay day that won't come when selling Petri's only to watch it fall into disrepair where no one will be interested????
