hadenough if we knew when our number will be up this would not happen but we don't. I guess you assume everyone dies of an existing condition which is not always true. Be a good example go to the DOT Monday and volunteer to let them examine you.

hadenough - in case you didn't know, all licensed CDL drivers have to pass a medically examined physical every 24 months. An examiner has the permission to issue a certificate for less time for existing ailments that should be reviewed more often than 24 months. This man obviously suffered a medical emergency. I feel horrible for his passenger, who I presume was his wife.

So the DOT should have known this guy would have a heart attack or stroke?

Without additional information no one can say if this was something that should have been caught or not.

Now I ask you. How can the DOT not test drivers for medical conditions and allow them to drive. This not only goes for drivers with a Commercial Drivers license but to all drivers whose license is up for renewal. An eye test and a reaction test will go for to get those who can no longer operate a motor vehicle safely off the roads.
