Taxpayer42, Commentor you are right. There is a primary and Republicans will have a choice between Fred Croscut and Dave Himelein who is a great Legislator. There is also a Democrat running for that seat. Dave Himelein has also been endorsed by the Conservative and Independence Parties. I know of Legislators who sent in their announcements 2 weeks ago and the PJ and Observer has not printed them yet for what ever reason. Having a choice is a good thing!

Commentor - July 24 issue - he is in a primary so, he's not unopposed. I love the wisdom of the blanket statement "all of the legislators need to be replaced" - since they don't all agree on every issue, I'm not sure what you base a statement like that on or what you would replace them with? 19 more people who would have differing opinions ...

Notalways - Ron Johnson has had a lot of space. The two Dunkirk Legislators are running unopposed so they probably won't need any. The paper publishes what is sent. If the candidates don't send it in, you can't blame the paper.

16 years too long. Need a change, however, he will either run unopposed or his cronies will vote him in. All of the Legislators need to be replaced!!

I have admiration for Mr. Croscut and what he has done. Let's just see how much space is given to all the candidates in this newspaper and not just the ones the Observer want to see elected.
