Hey what happend to the glowing reports about the other cafe when the rents were cut? Once again a new idea comes and I hope it works. As Carlaw sez: Many people like Jamestown so they can go ski someplace else".

How can they afford to offer $49 flights? Because we taxpayers subsidize them!

Under the Essential Air Service program we pay airlines around $220M/year to service over 100 small airports. The program dates back to the 70s when Congress deregulated airlines, thinking this would protect small airports.

It does – and we all pay for it - - the airlines receive a per-passenger subsidy from the largesse of US taxpayers...

I say let's give it a whirl. This may be what will help keep the airport viable. I also am eager to try the 50's cuisine, so keep us updated when it opens.

Please be sure the public knows when the restaurant opens so we can support it!! I would love to have lunch at a 50's style restaurant and woudl be willing to drive there (25 miles) to get it!
