joew:County Executive Greg Edwards announced Wednesday that Richard Platschek of 10836 Tem-ple Realty LLC and Chautauqua Restorative and Nursing Center LLC has offered $16.5 million cash with a $1.65 million good faith deposit to the county.

"I'm standing here today with an executed purchase offer contract for the sale of the Chautauqua County Home to two LLC corporations, each of which are owned by Richard Platschek as the majority owner," Edwards said. "The limited liability company is going to own the beds and the license. ... The operator of the facility is Chautauqua Restorative and Nursing Center LLC."

I'm just a little confused here "machine head"? You used information from the Observer to post your unfounded and false accusation against Mr Edwards(remember you said "it is there------) and then turn around and say you do not believe this newspaper? Surely you can understand why I might be just a tad confused right?

A lawsuit appears to be a very good possibility, and of course if Platscheck were to win, Edwards won't be held personally liable for any amt that may be awarded.

Does anyone know the name of the licensed broker who owns 10863 Temple Realty LLC, on what date was his/her LLC status certified, how many real estate closings did this LLC do over the last 2 yrs, and the names/addresses of such properties?

joe malicious or not it is my opinion Edwards is doing a last minute flip flop on this sale and we the taxpayers will be the ones paying when the lawsuits fly!

Platschek said part of the reason the $1.65M hadn't been deposited was b/c he had learned a week ago from the county's real estate broker that the transaction would only be approved if additional parties were added to the purchase group.? Sounds like Platscheck is alleging that the county was trying to "force" him into an unwanted partnership.

Further, is this the same real estate broker (10863 Temple Realty LLC) that coincidently has the same address as the county home, and who Platscheck entered into an agreement with?

"Concerned" your malicious remark about a kickback is exactly why it is so difficult finding decent people to run for public office. Why should anyone want their name dragged through the mud with such slanderous and unfounded remarks!

It appears "machine head" that Marcia has found what I could not which of course fly's in the face of your assertion that Mr Edwards lied! The earnest money was to be put into a escrow account prior to the 8/21 meeting. Think you might owe Mr Edwards a apology?

I smell a big lawsuit coming as to new interested parties and Edwards present actions my guess is the new party promised Edwards a bigger kick back than Platchek! But I still believe the home needs to be private owned!

joew, I guess you're right. Edwards said: "County Executive Greg Edwards announced Wednesday that Richard Platschek of 10836 Temple Realty LLC and Chautauqua Restorative and Nursing Center LLC has offered $16.5 million cash with a $1.65 million good faith deposit to the county." Everyone, including Edwards, thought that meant he was putting the money into an escrow account. So much for taking his word.

These statement from Edwards and Platchek are all contradictory and nothing about this makes sense. The deposit was, made then it wasn't. The buyer was interested, then he was approached by Edwards. Great end to you public career Edwards.

HandyAndy:Edwards does not care.He will be leaving soon, and his successor is going to have to try and clean up the mess he has created. Its time to call Albany and put this man on the Carpet.Oh,$500,000 of wasted taxpayer money on a gas well that is not even needed and sits there unused, should be mentioned also.

It is in my opinion that Edwards is one of the interested parties. What kind of monetary kickbacks has he been promised by selling the Home.Better yet, seeing as though in a few months Edwards will be a private citizen, may he wants to partner up and go into the Nursing Home business.I still think Rothner has his hand in this.

I think it is time for Edwards to step up to the plate and explain what is happening here. Explain in terms that the average taxpayer can understand and not legal mumbo-jumbo that leaves people with even more unanswered questions. Once a contract is entered into...that SHOULD be a binding contract. Something is just not right about this whole situation. The people should be given an explanation..it is our RIGHT! Too many shady, underhanded dealings going on here in Chautauqua County, it seems to me.

HandyAndy, If you are correct it is sad that a newspaper would do that since they should be about the right to free speech. Also, why not just remove the comments but leave the article?

I believe the article regarding Platschek's response may have been removed due to the derogatory comments aimed at the county exec. My opinion only. One of those remarks -Edwards has ZERO credibility! We'll soon find out who the "new" interested party is, followed by a valid lawsuit from Platschek's attorneys. Another one - One more time Edwards has lied, mislead, and shows that something is going on with him and Marcus and Millichap. To bad we couldn't give Edwards some truth serum and ask him a few questions. Another - Maybe the new County Exec can hire Edwards' old law firm to defend the county in the breach of contract lawsuit. Another - Is this the kind of behavior we want at the highest level of our County government? Waiting with you Captain...Anyone else sick of these slick politics?

On 8/14 the Observer had an article about Croscut which stated... When ask why Platscheck's offer was only on the table through September,Horrigan noted Platschek put 1.65 million in escrow. Who do you think told him that? Many articles refer to the money and when ask why this could not wait and the Leg meetings had to be fast tracked it was because we could not expect Platschek to keep that amount of money in escrow. Why has the article from Platschek been removed? Why won't the county talk aobut the changes they wanted in the contract? Who were the other individuals, and is there another offer? Those are the questions we should be getting answers to.
