Bullying right before our eyes

August 28, 2013

What has happened to the “do unto others” and “if you can’t say something nice, don’t say anything at all” teachings that we were once taught? Is it the news media, the video games, social media,......

Bullying has always existed..everyone knows that. The newest form of bullying, of course, is cyber bullying. It is simply easier to bully others now thanks to technology. You can't argue those facts. Now for my opinion. In order to help this problem, here are two suggestions: 1) Kids need to be monitored more closely while using the internet. This is obviously not easy, but parents needs to do a better job. Unfortunately, sometimes the parents themselves need a lesson on how to use act. 2) We all know that handouts are a problem in our state. These government "programs" need to be tied to negative consequences. If you have a free smartphone and you are found to be using it inappropriately, then it is taken away. (This same principal should apply to every government "program"). There is obviously more to the issue..but this could be a start.

One other thing, ever notice how divorced couple have exucses. Well they also use the guilt trip on you, you know the one. Sort of like what race baiters use called "white guilt".

Just stop the excuses. Black leadership has failed its people.

It reminds me of a married couple that just can't put their differences aside.

They end up in a divorce, each with excuses and excuses. Each a LOSER!

If married people are not going to work things out and 50% do end up as failures, what do you think different races are going to do?

Parents and young teenagers should not be having children until they can handle them. This is a major problem in America and a bigger problem in the inner city.

Its very difficult to solve someone elses problems. And lets just stop with the excuses.

White people are not going to solve Black's problems. There is a trust issue, all kinds of issues between us. It is long overdue that black leadership of this country step up to the plate to inform them its their responsiblity for their actions. The taxpayers give inner city schools hundreds of billions of dollars a year. We have 70 percent drop out rates. Is that really a return on investment? All the parents have to do is drop them off and be an example for their kids. We even give them breakfast and lunch. What do we get: 70% drop out rate. Just look at the Buffalo schools for example, 900 million a year. And I hate to keep bring it up, but it is so overlooked. Zimmerman would never have shot Martin that night had Martin been 200 miles away in Miami going to school. Instead he was kicked out of school and his mother couldn't handle him so she sent him to his father's, who couldn't handle him either. Kicked out of school, drugs, disrespectful, cracker word, it all adds up to trouble

"I am a independent, but remember it was REPUBLICAN PRESIDENT Lincoln who freed the slaves.", Yes, in the 1800's. In the 1960's the Southern states were all Democrats, "Dixiecrats" they were called, until the rest of the Democratic party and moderate Republicans banded together and forced the civil rights act up their "noses". Shortly afterwards, President Nixon formulated a plan to entice "angry white men" (his words) to his camp, and it worked, and the rest is history as they say. So, NOW, in 2013, an actually RELEVANT FACT, those former Democrats are now Republican/Conservatives, all angry white men, angry over the Civil Rights Act. And that's why claims of racism aimed at the GOP are absolutely valid. Any REAL teacher should know that.

DarkStar, The problem with what you said is there are just so many lemmings that buy into the rhetoric. Those that do it seems are incapable of thinking for themselves so let the party do it for them.

bulldog10,

Actually this applies to far more then slavery, most of the agenda of the left is based on guilt.

If your white you should feel guilty for slavery, if your rich or even simply earn a living you should feel guilty because you have more then someone else, etc.....

Listening to someone talk or write about the truth is not bullying.

Just because you don't like the truth doesn't make it bullying.

The fact is people who came to the USA after 1865 had nothing to do with slaves and should not feel guilty or be told to feel guilty by others.

Now if you want to feel guilty about it that is your business but don't tell me how I should feel after my grandparents and parents fought their way up the ladder of success.

Teach the poor whites and blacks to stay in school and work hard, stop making excuses for them killing and hurting each other. Stop the excuses for them not working. It hasn't worked in the last 100 years and it will not work in the next 100 years.

The headline is "Bullying right before our eyes."

Geeeez, Louise - I've seen enough in this thread to see that's true.

White Guilt. Maybe their great great grandparents were slave owners and they just can't get over it.

But anyone coming to this country after 1865 had nothing to do with owning slaves and in fact were treated just as bad as slaves. Ever heard of immigrants. Its happening today with the labor cheap Mexicans living 10 to a room and working farms for 4 or 5 dollars an hour, 10, 12 hours a day, to improve themselves and their families life.

Instead lets have excuses for the failure of people living here for generations who can't get off welfare, who do drugs and steal and who fill our jails.

I guess going to school to improve yourself is harder then stealing and jailtime.

the libs got to explain the fact blacks kill many times more whites than the reverse. all of this goes virtually unreported by the libs. So the libs can continue to live in a racist world, all done by whites. the fact is libs , it is the reverse. Just look it up.

decronig does it again. all that rhetoric and no facts. Marcia, women dumb ? Look at their record in science and business. They lag hugely. Blacks discriminated against ? From PBS and WSJ, the ones sold into slavery were undesirables or political enemies of the black ruling classes. Fact marcia, cronig and others. it was the libs, the democrats who fought a bloody war with a million dead and wounded to keep slavery. that failed so they started the KKK and jim crow. Now the libs want to blame the GOP for ti. What else can the libs do ? shift the blame. libs, post facts not whimsical thinking. marcia, with rare exception, every science advance has been done by men. To call that misogyny is plain stupidity.

What I find most amusing about the whole Zimmerman case was that if Zimmerman had been the victim of the shooting and the person who shot him was white I have no doubt the the left would never refer to Zimmerman as white and instead who blame the shooter was racist and targeted his because he was hispanic.

Judeye, what do you know about Alan West other than he’s a Black Conservative and hated by Liberals? Did you know there are young men and women alive today, in America and Iraq, because of what he did? As career military, I can attest there are very few career military officers willing to sacrifice their careers to save their men. Most of the time, the troops are nothing but cannon fodder to further their careers. What West did in Iraq violated the ROE’s, he knew it and immediately turned himself in to face whatever punishment was due. His actions put an end to roadside bombs in their AOR and saved the lives of countless men and women.

Truthtell, you and many like you suffer from white guilt. Get over it, everyone has a free education in the USA, use it. Don't p iss it away and cry that life is not fair. Adults and teenage children don't have children until your adult enough to take care of them.

There are alot of poor whites who fall into the same category as blacks and refuse to improve themselves. Others cannot be blamed for their failures. You can lead a horse to water, but you can't force him to drink.

Truthteller, Martin told his girl friend on the cell phone he thought Zimmerman was a white cracker gay rapist. Then Martin attacked him.

Who is the racist?

And you, do you support that racist?

Many groups of different types of people have come to the United States and those different groups have made it.

One group who has been here the longest continues to fill our jails.

They continue to kill each other.

Is that the fault of people who came to the USA in the 1880 to 1920 period? Should my parents and grandparents and I who never had anything to do with slaves be held hostage for something done long before they got here and which they had nothing to do with?

Should we be held hostage because we worked hard and climbed the ladder of success?
