$10,410.77/month - that has to be a typo!! If you assume a 40 hour work week (not accounting for all the days off and half days of school), that equals about $65/hour!

Also on the one polling place that is a joke....like people way away from the school itself will make a point to vote. ****! save a few bucks here and give it away for a high priced school officer??

There must be something in error...there has to be something not fully explained. The Chief of Police Ortolano although high itself only gets $100,000 and she is not high on the seniority list to receive such pay. I think this issue needs to be explained better...she can't be getting all of this money...even more than many teachers

WOW nice gig!! I agree that she is necessary as kids aren't what they use to be when the teacher and the principal could control them. However, I think this kind of paycheck is outrageous. The school would probably be better served if they had three of them and split that money. Don't forget they have a short year and a short day and most of the time they are doing nothing but walking and looking.

When it comes to watching out how taxpayer money is spent (instead of relying on non-taxpaying voters to support its agenda), the BOE is a farce! The incredible salary it has agreed to pay this SRO is just one example of wasteful spending, which btw, doesn't need voter approval.

Keep spending millions & millions on multiple "phases" of capital improvement projects for a district that has a steady decline in student enrollment.

It's clear that the city lacks enough people to stop such wasteful spending, and it's only helping to expedite its own fate.

Blame the Liberal idiots over the years that have tied the hands of teachers and administrators from doing their own discipline. We didn't need cops in schools, we had Principals with actual authority.

10k a month for a SRO? So she makes 120k a year? Or 80k a year for the 8 months school is in session? Either way this is the most ludicrous thing I have ever seen in my life. Something needs to be done with this outrageous spending around here. Starting with Zentz's outrageous salary.

Paying Zentz (or any other city cop) $10,410.77 per month to "walk the halls" at DHS is absolutely insane!

Ask any local martial arts instructor if they'd be interested in such a sweet gig...bet any one of them would do it for half that.

$10,000 a month for a cop in school??? look at the high salaries for part time work. Yet Dunkirk is a failing school. Not for the staff they make out well$$$. Too bad so many kids don't graduate and those that do can't find jobs. Lets keep improving the school building for the staff at the expense of our kids
