September 25, 2013

FORESTVILLE — Although residents were noticeably quieter and the board used a microphone to be heard better, complaints were not stemmed and one came from a new source — a village board member....

This bickering has gone back as far as I can remember no matter who was in office Forestville politics should be given a spot on the comedy channel so everyone can have a good laugh.

I never seen a town that had to be dragged kicking and screaming into the 21st century like Forestville before. If nothing else you give us all something to laugh at.

RetiredTeacher has such wonderful comments! Keep up the good work! I wish that were true of the others. If the Mayor isn't going to run in the next election she should step down now and maybe she'd leave with some dignity. She can't stop her Deputy Mayor from signing anything, and there was a much better time and place for her to tell him how she didn't like that he did. That just shows how truly unintelligent she is.

Retiredteacher, I truly pity anyone you may have educated. More proof the education system is failing!

There was no illegal meeting. Lying about people is a very dangerous thing to do. The Mayor said before she was elected that she would not run again. When she leaves and the village is no better off than it was a year ago don't blame her or feel any sense of victory. Sometimes things, like Forestville, just aren't worth saving. No worries you'll be back on the fast track to the 1800's very soon!

How much money is the village saving by adding another clerk? The ad was posted online the other day-looking to fill immediately. Funny, you would think that working so many undisturbed hours each week that the clerk would have no problem getting all of his work done.

You'll notice she didn't address the illegal meeting with 3 of the board members she has held in the village clerk's office, did she? She also didn't explain how paying the village clerk for 40 hours of work yet only having the office open for 8 hours a week is saving the village taxpayers any money. Obviously she thinks the residents are all as dumb as her supporters. Also, since she fired the only employee licensed to test the village water, how is it being tested, by whom, and how much are the taxpayers paying this mysterious person? Mr. Belote's next petition should be for a recall question on November's ballot. She did want to change the village elections to November, the village residents really should give her what she wants.

Wow, some of you really should learn to read. Mr. Johnson's name is Kevin, and the expression is dog and pony show bronski and Ms. Peterson resigned, she was not fired, she was not elected, and there is no evidence of any criminal action on her part. This is what happens when you put the village idiot and her lap dogs in charge. I predict her reign of terror will be the shortest administration the village ever has to endure, then come next spring, the residents can go back to leading the wonderful serene lives they have enjoyed for the previous 205 years.

the difference between ignorant and stupid is ignorant can be cured with a little work and education, whereas stupid is a terminal lifestyle choice. Some of you are displaying your choices.

I have never heard so many picky excuses that in actual life point to the inability of residents to accept change. They want things to go back to the way things were 50 years ago and that will never happen- get a life. People in SC are the same way. There is a certain element in every group that does nothing but complain no matter who says it. As for the online poll, if you were as smart as you think you are, you would know that the online polls are available to anyone who has access to the Observer online, not just to the residents of Forestville and people vote just to make a comment. Join the real world folks. Get rid of the current mayor and see how long it takes the village to go bankrupt!! Expend some energy trying to add to the tax base instead of pitching fits like 2 yr. olds!

Marcia Peterson resigned as the village clerk for reasons unknown and should absolutely be investigated. Her (suddenly) very vocal opposition to everything this Mayor is doing causes one to wonder what it is she (and others) don't want uncovered.

200 people signed a petition to have the Nayor resign. How many of those slugs dragged their behinds to the polls to vote?

It's apparent by the resistance to every idea the Mayor has that the intelligence level of the community of Forestville isn't very high. This village doesn't want to be fixed, but it's definitely broken.

32% of the water bills audited were incorrect? Wow. Sounds to me like Marsha Peterson is mad cause she was voted out and can no longer steal money. If anything Mrs. Peterson you should be worried about being criminally charged. Theif.

Horse and pony show again. Quaint little village and nothing but big issues. Same old same old. People need to get a life. There will be no resignation. When will you all start working together instead of picking everything apart? Never. Maybe folding up the village will help. Oh that's right, you will then have issues with Todd Johnson when he doesn't bend over backward for you. Move on people.
