After witnessing the special meeting called last night in mayville I tend to agree that the info that SonnyB stated regarding the situation with Avalon Nursing Home and the Filipino nurses was, in fact, accurate. Now I am concerned that other info provided by him may also be true. It certainly is something to consider.

Avi was beaten down and now this buyer is being beaten down. If any of it is true the choices are getting worse. Instead of being honest and not running everyone into the ground just because you do not want the home sold you will end up causing the Home to be purchased by someone that is really bad or it will go bankrupt. But that is how this area operates. They bite their nose to spite their face.

SonnyB AKA Machinehead, Otziman etc is spewing absolute lies. The Farbenblums do not operate any of these homes he is referring to. And yes his issue is his affiliation with the CCH and the exorbitant benefits it supplies him.

SonnyB or Ron ..whatever you call yourself..the time has come for the County to get out of the business. If the State Legislature and Governor Cuomo wanted counties to stay in it- they would have created the right conditions for the counties to compete with private care. You should be appealing to those... oh so caring Democrats in Albany.

Due diligence..I suggest the Legislators do the same..There are a lot more violations and enforcement actions on the Nursing homes Martin Farvenblum is affiliated with, these are just some that stand out..Martin Farvenblum is not the person he claims to be..

SMITHTOWN, New York (WABC) -- Workers at a Long Island nursing home say a bed bug problem is so bad, they keep moving patients room to room to escape the bugs.

"They're horrible they're all over the place and now to know you haven't been told," said Cindy.

Cindy asked us to conceal her identity. Afraid speaking out will cost her her job as a nurse at the Avalon Gardens nursing home in Smithtown.

She says managers at the facility notified a select group of staffers yesterday about the discovery of bedbugs

Some workers told Eyewitness News they were not informed.

The state Health Department confirmed they're investigating a complaint.

According to Cindy, the nursing home officials continue to shuffle residents from one room to another while new patients are being moved in.

The 10 nurses were quickly dispatched to work for a SentosaCare home in Smithtown, Avalon Gardens Rehabilitation and Health Care Center, but they said it was soon obvious that the terms of their contracts were not being honored. They joined 16 other Filipino nurses in claiming they were significantly underpaid, did not receive the same health insurance and workers' compensation benefits as other nurses and worked on understaffed shifts.

Avalon Gardens Rehabilitation & Health Care Center, Located at 7 Route 25A, Smithtown, NY 11787-1626.Martin Farvenblum,Board member,Corporate stockholder. THE 10 Filipino nurses were branded by the Suffolk County district attorney as derelict in their duties, accused of abandoning five chronically ill children, four of whom were on ventilators, and one terminally ill man by quitting their jobs in 2006 in a labor dispute. But in a strongly worded ruling, a state appeals court, the Appellate Division in Brooklyn, has barred District Attorney Thomas J. Spota from prosecuting the nurses. The court said that he joined with their employers in forcing them into 'involuntary servitude' by using criminal sanction to require them to work against their will, thus violating the nurses' constitutional rights under the 13th Amendment. The Jan. 13 ruling also said the district attorney violated the First Amendment rights of the lawyer who advised the nurses by prosecuting him for conspiracy.
