The training is required of the county veterans office by the Veterans Administration. If the local veterans agency does not do this they lose their certification.

Irresponsible - they will do just like they did in the past take the IGT money out of the fund balance which is already under what the state recommends just so they can say we cut the budget and they added $3000 for training that can be provided by the State for FREE

WOW they reduced it a whole .29. Give me a break. What a joke. They should all be dumped but then again you will just get more incompetents in there. Anyone worth his/her stuff won't bother dealing with the ignorance involved.

Not always: If the home is not sold the money can always be put back in the budget. This is what my legislator told me.

Very smart to add their own lawyer. Not so smart to not fund IGT this early in the game. You don't know how much the percentages are going to be and you don't know if you are selling or keeping it. You could always budget for it and not spend it later. This is done all the time by other departments...if you don't believe it look at old budgets. This should be a financial decision not an emotional one. Where else in county government do you get back this much money for money you spend?
